rocky mountain tennisReady for a step up, but not quite ready for league play our 8 to 9 year olds will find the class they need in our Brawlers groups. Here students will practice, compete and play under the standards and techniques laid out by the USTA's QuickStart program. QuickStart Tennis is an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring.

rocky mountian tennisEach class at this level will be ran by a USPTR/USPTA professional, who not only understands the game, but also how to make it relevant for this age group. Children will have scheduled practices twice weekly and inter/intra club matches on Saturdays. In addition to technique, children will learn strategy, scoring, court etiquette and sportsmanship.

The goal at this level is simple - get the kids playing the game. Through playing and competing, kids will learn to serve, rally and volley and will hone the skills that will take them to the next level.

Children must have certain prerequisites skills to join this class. They must be able to throw over-hand from the baseline across the net and to catch a ball tossed from 30 feet away after one bounce.

Please make sure your special player has their own racquet - sizes should range from 25 to 27 inches in length, tennis shoes, a water bottle (Please nothing sticky) and dressed for lots of movement.
